Free Crochet Pattern: Converse Slipper Socks

I saw these floating around the interwebs and could NOT find a proper pattern in English. So I found a pattern in Finnish and I decided to wing it based on pictures, my feet and basic stitches. This is NOT a finalized pattern, it is being tested and honestly it's a variable pattern....much will depend on your foot size, yarn type, crochet tension, etc.

I could not get it to translate properly, so this is my best interpretation.

Please feel free to let me know any errata, suggestions, tips, etc! This pattern is meant to be more of a guide and it is understood you have a basic knowledge of crochet terms, patterns, and techniques.

Free Crochet Pattern: Ribbed Coffee Sleeve

Materials:
G Hook
Worsted Weight Wool (or preferred yarn. I prefer wool for its ability to hold in heat.)

Terms:
Ch: chain
DC: double crochet
SS: slip stitch
ST: stitch
FPDC: front post double crochet
BPDC: back post double crochet


Round One: Chain 34
DC in 3rd ch from hook
DC across
Join with SS to form a circle. This connects the "top" of your double crochet stitches. To connect the "bottom" to make your first row sturdier, use the tail to connect the chain stitches and weave in ends.) **See Alternate Method of starting at bottom of pattern**
Round Two: Ch 2 (does NOT count as st here or throughout)
*FPDC in next 2 sts. BPDC in next 2 sts.*
Repeat from * around, making a pattern of fpdc, fpdc, bpdc, bpdc around. SS with starting ch.
Repeat Round Two until sleeve is 10 rows or so, or desired length.
Finish and weave in ends.


**ALTERNATE STARTING INSTRUCTIONS**
Ch 34
Join with ss to form a circle.
DC in the round all the way around. Proceed with Round Two of the pattern.

**TIPS AND TRICKS**
You may need to adjust your chain count based on cup sizes, how tightly you crochet, or size of the yarn. Just use an even number for your chain count.

Free Crochet Pattern--Tetris Blanket

So this isn't so much a pattern, as a color guide. I got side tracked and haven't finished my Tetris blanket--HEY A BIRD!--but I thought I'd share this simple lay out. You can totally redesign your own on some fun apps and programs like StitchSketch.

If you are not sure how to make a granny square, search YouTube, some of the best tutorials are on there, such as anything by "Crochet with Mikey/The Crochet Crowd"

I suggest making the squares of 2 simple rounds each, roughly 4 inches. Go bigger if you want a large afghan, smaller if you want a baby blanket or smaller throw.

Round Bumpy Scrubbie--Free Crochet Pattern

You'll Need:

G Hook (or larger hook for larger cloth)

Cotton yarn

Darning Needle

**Please note, this scrubbie is worked in rounds AND you turn on each round.**

Terms Used:

Ch= Chain

SC= Single Crochet

TR= Triple Crochet

ST= Stitch

SS= SlipStitch

ROUND 1

CH 3

11 DC in 3rd CH from hook

SS to Join With CH 3

ROUND 2

CH 1 and TURN

*1 SC and 1 TR in next ST*

Repeat from * in each ST around.

SS in turning chain.

ROUND 3

CH 1 and TURN

SC in next ST.

1 SC in each ST Around

SS with Turning Chain

ROUND 4

Repeat Round 2

ROUND 5

Repeat Round 3

ROUND 6

Repeat Round 3

Fasten off and weave in ends with hook or darning needle.

**If you prefer a larger cloth, just keep repeating Rounds 4 and 5 before you do the final round.**

**The cloth may 'ripple' a bit depending on how tight you crochet. Just stretch and adjust it to your liking.**

Free Crochet Pattern--Easy Washcloth/Dishcloth

We're doing washcloths for the CAL/KAL that I created over on Ravelry so I thought I'd take a stab at one since I hadn't found a nice, quick, simple pattern in half double crochet (so far).

Terms Used:
ss= slipstitch
st= stitch
sc= single crochet
hdc=half double crochet

Cotton Yarn  (I used "I Love This Cotton")


Ch 22
hdc in 3rd ch from hook and 1 hdc in each st across
ch 2
turn
*1 hdc in each st across
ch 2
turn*
Repeat from * for 13-14 rows (until desired size)

ch 1 and  sc around all edges of the cloth, fudging as you go. Do 3 sc in each corner for a more rounded appearance.

OPTIONAL:
At last corner (meeting where you started) ch 20 and ss into same corner to make a hanging loop for the cloth. ss into next st for security , finish off and weave in ends.
